SHDHS Mathematics Department Mission
The goal of the St. Henry District High School Mathematics Department is to provide an educational environment for students to learn and apply mathematical concepts as well as develop the critical thinking and problem solving skills that can be widely applied in all disciplines and at all levels. Our mission is to assist all students in the preparation of life-long learning and the uses of mathematics at the post-secondary educational level, the work force, and everyday life. This is accomplished through our faculty’s commitment to excellence in teaching and improving their own mathematics educational pursuits, a well-designed and implemented mathematics curriculum, a supportive environment for all mathematics students, and a dedicated student body.
SHDHS Mathematics Department Goals
1. Increased and improved vertical alignment in the courses of Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus.
2. Assist students to achieve their personal ACT goal and math course goals at each level.
3. Measure student growth on fundamental math concepts freshman through senior year.
4. Improve math relations outside the classroom by way of relationships with students, increased flex opportunities in math, increased extra-curricular math options, and community events/relations.
