Summer Camp Show details

SHDHS invites 2nd through 8th-grade students to participate in its annual Summer Drama Camp and the performance of “The Lion King KIDS”. Campers will work on their craft of acting, singing, and dancing throughout the camp day. Campers will also learn the basic tools for acting, aspects of technical theater, and characterization. These sessions, intermixed with games and lessons, will culminate in a performance at the end of the camp on the stage of the Drees Homes Auditorium.

Disney’s The Lion King has captivated the imagination of audiences worldwide, and now you can produce this one-of-a-kind musical in your community. Bring the African savanna to life on your stage with Simba, Rafiki, and an unforgettable cast of characters as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle and back again in this inspiring, coming-of-age tale.

Dates: June 17-21, 2023
Camp Times: 9 am – 3 pm – Students bring sacked lunches.
Performance Friday, June 21st at 3 pm at Drees Homes Auditorium.

*Auditions: June 10th at 12pm-3pm and June 11th at 9-11:30am
*If these times do not work with your schedule, we will make separate arrangements for a video audition submission.

Audition Requirement: 1 minute of a song of the camper’s choice. Auditionees are welcome to bring a CD for accompaniment or sing acapella. The song must be appropriate.

Camp Ages: entering 2nd grade – 8th graders (including leaving 8th graders)

Camp Price: $250 /camper
$125 for an additional child from family
Students must bring a sack lunch every day at the camp.

PERMISSIONS AND WAIVERS

Guardian hereby permits the child to participate in the Saint Henry District High School’s camp described above. Guardian understands that this activity will occur within school grounds – including SHDHS’s main campus and athletic complex (SHAC) and that the child will be supervised by designated school personnel.

In consideration of the advantages of this activity, the guardian agrees to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Saint Henry District High School and the Diocese of Covington and their representatives from liability for any accident in which the child may be involved or any injury to the child that may occur in connection with this activity.

If the child has a medical condition that requires health services and/or medications while participating in provided summer activities, the guardian will communicate those needs to the school personnel before attending. In the event of an accident or sudden illness, the guardian understands that reasonable effort will be made to immediately contact the guardian or emergency contact. However, the guardian authorizes the school personnel to secure emergency medical care if unavailable.

Guardian recognizes that he/she remains fully responsible for any legal liability resulting from the personal actions of a participating child.
