SHDHS invites 2nd through 8th-grade students to participate in its annual Summer Drama Camp and the performance of “Seussical Kids”. Campers will work on their craft of acting, singing, and dancing throughout the camp day. Campers will also learn the basic tools for acting, aspects of technical theatre, and characterization. These sessions, intermixed with games and lessons, will culminate in a performance at the end of the camp on the stage of the Drees Homes Auditorium.
The English summer enhancement program is designed to reinforce students’ skills essential for a successful transition into a high-school-level class. Students will practice critical reading techniques such as close-reading, note taking, and annotating to increase comprehension. Additionally, students will incorporate writing tools to effectively communicate, develop and support ideas in an organized and focused manner.
