General Athletic Info

SHDHS is the proud home to 23 men’s and women’s KHSAA teams holding numerous titles, including more than 60 state championships. Our Crusader athletic teams, student athletes, coaching staff, athletic facilities, and parent Booster organization are second to none!

In addition to our high school athletic programs, SHDHS also offers various athletic opportunities to district middle school students, as well as summer camp opportunities for both grade school and middle school students.


Our SHDHS campus athletic facilities are second to none in the area, including:

I-75 South to I-64 West near Georgetown. Take the 1st Frankfort exit (#58) and go toward Frankfort (a right onto ramp and right onto Versailles Rd.). Turn left onto US 421 (the east/west connector – 4 lane). Turn right onto KY1784 and you will see a sign there that says Capital View Park. Take an almost immediate left into the Park and the soccer field is back in on your right.
Caple Fields
I-275 east to Covington/Taylor Mill exit. Turn left off exit and go down the hill. Turn right on 43rd Street (across from Value City) take 43rd street across the railroad tracks to Vermont, turn right on Vermont, take Vermont to Baltimore. Turn right on Baltimore Avenue to 45th Street, take 45th Street to Virginia, turn right on Virginia, follow to Rosedale Park, Caple Fields are in Rosedale Park

Take I-275 East to I-471 North. Right on Route 8 (Last Exit in Kentucky) Newport/Bellevue Exit. Turn Right on Route 8, go approximately 3 miles on Route 8. Turn left on Clay Street. The school is at the bottom of Clay Street.

Take I-471 North to Exit #5 Dayton/Bellevue. Right on Route 8. Continue on for a few miles through Bellevue and Dayton. You will pass the Dayton Fire Department. Upon Reaching an intersection where “Klingenber’s Hardware” is located, you will come to a stop sign. Ameristop is on your left. Turn left and proceed about 3 blocks to the school. Turn left in front of school and you are looking straight at ball field. Parking: in small lot in front of school.
Dixie Heights High School

I-275 to Dixie Highway (US 25) Exit. South on Dixie Highway and school is on the right. The Soccer field is behind the far end of the school.
Eastern Kentucky University
Richmond, KY
Take I-75 South to the Exit 87 (the second Richmond). Turn left off of the exit onto Route 876. Stay on Route 876 for 1 or 1.5 miles. E.K.U. will be on the left hand side of the road.
Elder High School
I-75 North to Exit 50 West, then take River Road-Linn Street Exit. Once you are on the Viaduct you are about 4 miles from Elder High School. Stay in the right lane, take Warsaw Avenue Exit (on the right). Go through 5 lights (Warsaw becomes Glenway Ave.) At the 4th light bear to the right. Go through the 5th light (5 way intersection). Turn left at the next street (Beech Ave.), turn right at the next street (Vincent Ave.) Elder is straight ahead.
Covington, KY
I-275 to Exit 79,Covington/Taylor Mill Road Exit. Go north on Route 16 to Church Street (third street on the right). Right on Church Street to the third stop sign. Turn right on 43rd street. Turn right about .2 miles into the F.O.P.A. entrance. There are two fields. Holy Cross plays on the field on the right and Covington Latin (Covington, Kentucky), 291-7044, plays on the field to the left.orI-275 East, take Taylor Mill Road Exit, turn left off of exit. Follow down the hill, turn right on Church Street (the 2nd street past the AmeriStop) Turn right on 43rd Street (there is a sign that directs you to Twin Oaks Golf Course). F.O.P.A. Fields are on the right behind the impounding lot.
Fox Field
(Elsmere, Kentucky)
I-75 to Exit 184A, Erlanger exit. At the third stop light, turn right onto Dixie Highway (US 25). At the third stop light, turn left onto Garvey Avenue (past St. Henry parking lot). Go past the second stop sign and turn left at the second street on the left which is Spring Street. The entrance to the parking lot is at the end of Spring Street.
Gallatin County
(Warsaw, Kentucky)
US 42 South through Florence and Continue to Warsaw. About a 45 minute drive. Gallatin County High School is on left hand side upon entering Warsaw.
Grant County High School
(Dry Ridge, Kentucky)
I-75 South to Exit 159, Dry Ridge Exit. Go east (right) off the exit and go the first stop light. Turn right and head south on US 25. Go about 1 mile and right before the railroad tracks, turn right and the school and soccer field are at the end of the street. If you go over the railroad tracks, you have gone too far.orTake I-75 South to Exit 159 (Dry Ridge Exit). Turn right at end of exit. Go past the Toyota Dealership. Turn right on to Route 467. Go approximately 1 mile on Route 467. Grant County High School is on left side of road.
Harrison County High School
Take I-275 East to AA Highway. Exit on Route 27, south and go all the way to Cynthiana. Just past Leona’s Restaurant, the road will fork, stay left. Harrison County High School will be approximately 2 miles and will be on the left hand side.
Henry Clay High School
I-75 South to exit 108 (Man of War). Turn right on Man of War to Richmond Road. Turn right on Richmond Road, go approximately 1.5 mile. As you pass the Lexington Mall (on your right) get in the left lane. Turn left on Fontaine (2nd light past the mall) and enter the campus parking lot on the left.
Heritage Academy
(Florence, Kentucky)
I-75 to Exit 180, Florence/Union Exit. Go east on US 42 about 1.1 mile. The school is on the left and the soccer field is behind the school.orI-75 to Turfway Road. Take Turfway Road east to Dixie Highway. Turn Right (South) on Dixie Highway to split of US 42 and US 25.Continue straight through intersection on US 42.About 100 yards from intersection, school is on the right hand side. I-275 to I-471 North to Exit 4, Newport/Bellevue (Memorial Parkway) exit. Go east (right) approximately 2.5 miles and school is on the left. The soccer field is behind the school.
Highland Park
I-275 to I-471 North, take Exit Newport/Grand Avenue and take right fork. Turn right onto Grand Avenue and go to third light. At third light turn left onto Highland Avenue. Stay on Highland Avenue through flashing yellow light (at Ruth Moyer School) Turn left on to Mayfield. Stay on Mayfield until stop sign. After stop sign you will be entering Highland Park. Go to the top of the hill, the ball diamond sits down in the hole.orTake I-471 to exit #2 Southgate/Ft. Thomas. Turn left off exit and proceed to Highland Avenue. Right on Highland Avenue. Follow Highland straight. You will pass intersection of Highland and Grand Ave. You will see Ruth Moyer Elementary on your left hand side. Next street on left is Mayfield. Turn left on Mayfield and it will lead you into the park. Parking: Near shelter on left, which is beyond the end of the left field line fence.

Holy Cross

Take I-275 to exit 79 Covington/Taylor Mill. Go north on KY 16 (becomes Winston Ave.) turn right on 42nd St. Turn right on Decoursey. Turn left on 44th St. Go across the RR tracks . Turn right on Vermont, right on Baltimore, Down 45th St. to Virginia. Turn right on Virginia, dead ends into Rosedale Park-Cappel Field.
Kenton Lakes
Take I-275 East to Taylor Mill Exit and turn right on to Taylor Mill Road (Route 16) Go 2 miles to Wolff Road (Wolff Road is .5 mile past PNC Bank). Turn Left at Wolf Road. Go to Route 177 and turn right. Go about 10 miles, Kenton Lakes on Right. Immediately pass St. Matthews Church & School on right hand side.

Lloyd High School
I-75 to exit 184 Erlanger. Go east on rt. 236. (Commonwealth Ave.) Turn right at Baker St. (Erlanger City Building). Baker St. will take you straight to field. Parking: usually in main lot in front of school.
I-75 North towards Dayton. Exit 13, turn left at stop light. Go across interstate and turn left at 1st street (West Forrer). Go to traffic light, turn right onto Wyoming Avenue. At 2nd traffic light, turn right onto Anna. Track is 1/2 block on the right.
Ludlow High School
(Ludlow, Kentucky)
I-75 to Exit 189, Kyles Lane/Fort Wright/Park Hills Exit. West on Kyles Lane until it dead ends into Dixie Highway. Go north (turn right) on Dixie Highway (US 25). Turn left at the stop light onto Sleepy Hollow Road and go to the end of Sleepy Hollow which turns into Deverill Street. Turn right on Elm Street and go 2 traffic lights and turn left on Adela.
Marshall Park Fields
I-75 South. Take the first Georgetown Exit (the by-pass). Follow for 5 stop lights and turn right at McDonalds. Follow to Burger King and turn left just past it. Look for Marshall Park or Old Airport Road.
orTake I-75 South for 32.8 miles until US 62 Exit. Keep Right at the fork in the ramp. Turn Right onto US 62/US 460 (also called Main Street). Turn left onto US25, Turn right after Burger King to go to the softball fields.
Meinken Field
I-275 to exit 79 Covington/Taylor Mill. Go North on KY 16 (becomes Winston Ave) Continue straight on KY16 .You will see a “Shell” station and the Ashland Oil Refinery. Field is located on right side near refinery. Parking: near bathroom building or Madison Avenue south from Downtown Covington.
Morscher Field
(Cold Springs, Kentucky)
I-275 to Exit 75, Alexandria Exit. Go south on US 27 about 1 mile. At the light past K-Mart, turn left onto 1998 or Industrial Road. Follow it to the end which will put you onto Route 8. Turn right on Route 8 for about .8 mile. The soccer field is on the right.
Newport Central Catholic
Take I-275 East to I-471 North and turn west (left) at exit #3 Newport/Grand Avenue. (At some point Grand Avenue becomes Carothers Road) Turn Right into N.C.C. at top of hill. (Entrance is after Skyline Chili and right before K-Mart.
Newport High School
Take I-275 East to I-471 North. Follow I-471 North to the 4th Exit (State Route 8/Newport/Bellevue exit) Turn right at the stop light at the end of the exit. Stay in the right hand lane and turn right at the nest light (Riviera, Next to the Party Source) Follow until it ends (the second stop sign) and turn right. Newport High School will be on the left after you go under the I-471 bridge.orTake I-275 East to I-471 North. Take exit #5 Dayton/Bellevue, go east on Rt. 8.Turn right on Riviera Dr. (at Party Source). Turn right on 6th St. going back under I-471.School is on left hand side and ball field is behind school. Northern Kentucky University
(Alexandria, Kentucky)
I-275 to Exit 76, Northern Kentucky University Exit. Go south off the exit and turn right on the second street on the right which is Kenton Drive. Go past the tennis courts, soccer and track field and the Health Center is on the left at the end of the street. The pool is located in the lower level.
Pendleton County
(Falmouth, Kentucky)
I-275 to Exit 77, Wilder Exit. Go east on 546 about 3.2 miles to the Alexandria exit. Go south on US 27 until you get to the City of Falmouth. As you cross over the Licking River bridge, the soccer field is less than 1 mile on the right. Allow 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Purcell Marion
I-471 North to Columbia Parkway, turn left on Kemper Lane to the first street on right. Turn right onto that street until you get to Victory Parkway. Turn right on to McMillan, stay in Left lane. Turn right on to Madison and then a left on to Hackberry. Purcell is one block on left side.
Purcell Marion Soccer Field at Nagly Park
I-275 East, Exit Beechmont Avenue. Turn left off exit (west). Go to Nagly Road (at White Castle), turn right. .5 mile down road on right
Reading High School
(Reading, Ohio)
Take I-75 North to the Reading/Lockland Exit and turn right off exit. Turn left onto Jefferson and turn right onto Columbia Avenue. Turn left onto Market Street and left again onto Pleasant. Follow Pleasant to the track.
Rivershore Softball Fields
I-275 West to exit 7A (Hebron 237). Swing right and go to first stop sign and turn right. The fields will be at the bottom of the hill.
Ryle High School
(Union, Kentucky)
I-75 to Exit 80, Florence/Union Exit. Go south on US 42 about 4 to 5 miles. School is on the right and the soccer field is behind the school.
St. Agnes Church
(Fort Wright, Kentucky)

I-75 to Exit 77, Wilder Exit. Go south on AA Highway to US 68 which is south of Maysville. Go through the intersection with US 68. Turn left onto Maple Leaf Road at the caution light after you pass the stop light for the entrance to Kroger’s. The soccer field is on the right about 1/2 mile. Allow at least 1 hour.
St. Philips Church
(Melbourne, Kentucky)
I-275 to Exit 75A, Alexandria Exit. Go south on US 27 about 1 mile. At the light past K-Mart, turn left onto 1998 or Industrial Road. Follow it to the end which will put you onto Route 8. Turn right on Route 8 for about 32.3 miles. The soccer field is on the left across from the church.
St. Xavier (Ohio)
I-75 North to Exit 9, Seymour Avenue/Paddock Road exit. Turn left onto Seymour and as soon as you go under the railroad bridge turn left on to North Bend Road. Go approximately 3-5 miles on North Bend Road (up the hill) St. X is on top of hill.
Scott High School
(Taylor Mill, Kentucky)
I-275 to Exit 79, Taylor Mill Road Exit. Go south on Taylor Mill Road (US 16) to Old Taylor Mill Road which is just over the exchange. Turn right by Remkes onto Old Taylor Mill Road. Go 1.8 miles to the driveway past Klenco and turn right. The soccer field is behind the tennis courts. The pool is on the left of the sports fields.
Shawnee State University
275 East to Wilder exit (AA Highway). Follow AA Highway to Garrison, turn right to Route 8, Follow to US 23. (You will have to look closely for it or you will miss it) Turn left onto 23, Follow into Portsmouth. After the 2nd bridge, you are in the Downtown area, veer to the right, the school is on the right.
Silver Grove
I-275 to AA Highway. Take US 27 Exit and turn left. Follow to State Route 1998 and turn right. Follow down the hill until it ends into Route 8 and turn right. Follow until the first stop light and turn right. Fields are on the left hand side about 1.5 miles (just after you pass the trailer park).
Turn left out of school onto Donaldson. Turn left onto Dixie Highway. Turn left onto Kenton Lands (near Taco Bell). Go through the stop sign, The entrance/driveway will be marked on your left.
Simon Kenton High School
I-275 to exit 80 Covington/Independence. South on Ky 17 several miles through independence. School is on right hand side of Ky 17.Field is behind school to the left side. Parking: In small lot around back of school on left side.
South Dearborn High School
I-275 West to Lawrenceburg, IN exit. Turn left off the exit onto Rt. 50.Follow to Shell station on the right. Turn right. SHDHS. is on the right after about a half mile.
Sowers Soccer Field
I-75 South to I-64 West. Take Exit 58 (the first Frankfort Exit). Turn right onto 60 West. At third light turn left onto Highway 676 Travel several miles through 2 lights and turn right into Capital View Park, take a sharp left then the 1st right. Field is behind Legends Baseball Field.
Taft Museum of Art
316 Pike Street
Cincinnati, OH
Take I-75 North cross over bridge and take the 5th Street exit (second exit to the right) Turn Right onto Pike Street. Park for free behind Museum.
Tates Creek High School
Take I-75 South to Lexington. Take Exit 115 and turn right on Newtown Pike. Travel approximately 1 mile and turn right (west) on New Circle. Take New Circle around the West Side of Lexington and exit right at Tates Creek Road. Go two lights and make a left at Armstrong Mill (big American flag). Go 300 yards to the bottom of the hill and turn left at Greentree. Make a right onto Centre Parke at the first stop sign. Go to the top of the hill and take the first left. This takes you around to the stadium at the back of the school.
Taylor Mill Boosters Field
Take I-275 to 17 S go 8 miles ton left at light on Harris go 3/4 mile. Turn left on Oliver another 3/4 mile, baseball field is on the right.
Thomas More College
I-71 North to I-75 North. I-75 North to I-275 East. I-275 East to Turkeyfoot Road Exit. At Turkeyfoot Road exit turn right. Go to second light (Thomas More Parkway). Turn left on to Thomas More Parkway (get in the right hand lane). Turn right at the first street on the right. Follow street to parking lot. Gym (Connor Convocation Center) is last building on left before parking lot.
Tom Braun
(Villa Hills, Kentucky)
I-75 to Buttermilk Pike Exit. West on Buttermilk Pike to Collins Road. Right on Collins Road and take it to the end. Turn right on Amsterdam and the soccer filed is on the left.
Tower Park
(Fort Thomas, Kentucky)
I-275 to I-471 South to Exit 2, Southgate/Fort Thomas Exit. Go south on US 27 to Route 445. At the second stop light, turn left (Grandview) and head east on 445. At the top of the hill, turn left onto South Fort Thomas Avenue. At the first light, turn right onto Army Reserve Road. Turn left into the first driveway and follow the signs to the soccer field.
Turkeyfoot Middle School
Turn Left out of SHDHS onto Donaldson Road. (Donaldson Road becomes Commonwealth and then becomes Stevenson Road) Go straight until Stevenson Road dead ends at Turkeyfoot Road. Turn Left onto Turkeyfoot Road. Turkeyfoot Middle School is on the left (approximately 2 miles.)orTurn Left out of SHDHS onto Donaldson Road. Left onto Dixie Highway. Right onto Dudley Road (across from Dixie High School) Right onto Turkeyfoot Road. Turkeyfoot Middle School is on the right. (approximately 1.5 miles.)
Ursuline Academy
Take I-71 North to Pfeiffer Road. Turn left off of exit, go through approximately 2 lights, school is on the left.
Villa Madonna
I-75 to Buttermilk Pike Exit, turn west on Buttermilk Pike. Go to the second four-way intersection (past St. Joe and Kramer’s Red Barn). Turn right at the four-way intersection on Collins Road. This road runs dead end into Amsterdam Road. Turn right on Amsterdam Road, school is immediately on the left.
Walton-Verona High School
I-75 to Walton-Verona exit (about 15 miles south of Florence). Go east on Ky 16 to school road, on hand side.. (1/2 mile from I-75).Turn left on school road and proceed to High School. Field is behind the school parking: anywhere
Western Hills High School
I-75 North to Harrison Ave Exit 2B. This exit is a left hand exit from the high speed lane. Go to the second traffic light and turn left on Queen City Avenue. Go approximately 3.5 miles to the top of the hill, at the traffic lght of Queen City and Ferguson, turn left on Ferguson. The school is on you r left approximately 1/2 mile.
I-75 South to the Williamstown Exit, turn left. At first stop sign turn left on US 25, turn left on Helton (this is just past the first stop light). Williamstown High School is on Helton. go past the school until Helton ends and turn left. Follow until you see the Detention Center and turn onto the Gravel Road, If you see the Hospital you have gone too far.
Woodlands Lakes Christian Camp
I-275 East, Exit US 52 Toward New Richmond. Turn left on 10 Mile Road. Follow 10 Mile Road to stop light, go straight until road forks, take the left branch. Follow this until stop sign and turn left, the camp is on your right not far down the road.
