The Kentucky High School Athletic Association announced the first honorees of its new “Triple Threat Award” program and several Crusaders made the list!

The Triple Threat Award initiative is aimed at recognizing athletes who play sports for their school during each of the KHSAA’s three seasons (fall/winter/spring). It’s the latest effort by the KHSAA to help de-emphasize sports specialization.

11 Crusaders made the list!

  • Ava Berling – Girls Golf, Girls Bowling, Girls Tennis
  • Sarah Brennen- Girls Soccer, Girls Bowling, Girls Track
  • Katie Evans – Girls Soccer, Girls Basketball, Girls Track
  • Catherine Henry – Girls Soccer, Girls Bowling, Girls Track
  • Kasey Hill – Girls Cross Country, Girls Swimming, Girls Track
  • MacKenzie Kent – Girls Soccer, Girls Swimming, Girls Track
  • Ellie Laudenslayer – Girls Soccer, Girls Bowling, Girls Track
  • Garrett Manahan – Boys Soccer, Boys Bowling, Boys Tennis
  • Mitch McArtor – Boys Soccer, Boys Basketball, Boys Track
  • Hayden Norris – Boys Cross Country, Boys Swimming, Boys Track
  • Michael Schaefer – Boys Soccer , Boys Basketball, Baseball

A total of 1,814 athletes were recognized from 266 of the KHSAA’s 280 member schools.
